Inspired by the famous North American Chinese take out dish "General Tso's" that takes chicken, chef brings here a simple and light plant based version made with organic tofu. The tofu is baked and after that, tossed in sweet and spicy sauce with a nice ginger and garlic flavors. It comes with organic Jasmine rice, crunchy brocolli and a wedge of lemon to squeeze over everything.

Packed with flavor with just enough heat to make it interesting. Please cut the broccoli into smaller pieces though!

Jenna · 09/30/22

You know, it's funny, there's another dish on CookUnity called "General Tso's Tofu," and this one is a lot more what someone would expect from that. Quite sweet, nicely spicy, and overall delicious. Broccoli could be chopped a bit more, but not a source of concern and superior to local American-Chinese options.

Moses · 09/26/22

I wouldn't mind if the rice and broccoli were a bit more seasoned, but I just added a little hoisin sauce from the fridge and that made it perfect. The tofu, however, was SO good. The texture was great, the flavor was delicious and complex, and there was a good portion of it, they definitely didn't skimp on it. I've had some meal delivery stuff before with tofu, and it is almost always horribly underwhelming, unseasoned, and mushy. This was such a welcome relief, I literally scraped the inside of the box to get every last drop of sauce out.

Yummy!
