Chef Ali Clem, the dynamic force behind Austin's acclaimed la Barbecue, has carved an
inspiring path through the world of Texas barbecue. A Fort Worth native, Clem, began
her culinary journey in East Texas at age 18, working her way up through various roles
in the hospitality industry. Her pivotal moment came when she moved to Austin and
teamed up with barbecue royalty John Mueller to help open a food trailer on South First
