Junzi Kitchen's griddled sesame tofu is an all-time favorite of their customers—and we're talking vegans, meat lovers, and everyone in between. This dish is all about the sauce; an umami-packed sesame sauce packs sweet and savory flavors just a little kick of spice. The sauce helps give tender tofu a delicious crust when griddled, and sides of simply sautéed bok choy and nutty brown rice make the dish complete.

So delicious! Transported me back to China, authentic flavors. Perfect portions of protein, rice, and veg - plenty of bok choy which is a big advantage compared to other similar dishes!

I’m an omnivore so I eat meat as well and this is still my favorite meal on all of Cook Unity! The sauce completes this fantastic traditional dish.

This was really good and I can see ordering it regularly. I’m a big fan of baby bok choy so I was happy to find it held up well and stayed lightly cooked after heating in oven.
Chefs Wanting Zhang and Yong Zhao grew up in Northern China, met in college in Beijing, and went to Yale for graduate school. Zhang and Yong shared a common love for the food they grew up with and missed eating authentic and healthy Northern Chinese food every day. They loved the diverse flavors of their home so much that they opened the first Junzi Kitchen in New Haven in 2015 to share their favorite dishes with their classmates and community. Since then Junzi Kitchen has been an institution beloved by Chinese and non-Chinese diners alike, eventually opening in New York City as one of the highest reviewed Chinese restaurants. Through CookUnity, they're excited to share those healthy and delicious traditional recipes with you.
